What’s the process for book-writing projects?

When I take on your book, we’ll discuss your purpose, your audience, what the audience knows about the subject and what they need to know, and what your basic message is. We will talk about the impact you want your book to have on your audience—that is, how will they be changed once they read it? And we will determine the market for the book, the competition, and what will make your book different and better.

Once I understand the scope of the project and the work involved, I will quote you a fee. When we reach an agreement and I am paid a portion to begin work, I will write a book proposal. (If you already have an agent, we will work in concert with that agent. If you don’t, I can suggest one.)
