What’s the process for book-writing projects? (cont.)
When the proposal is ready, we will send it to an agent, who will use the proposal to sell the idea to a publisher. Know that a proposal usually includes a sample chapter or two. (Or perhaps you already have a publisher on board and just need my help to write what you’ve been contracted to write. Or you plan to self-publish. In either case, no proposal is needed.)
If you have material to work with, I review that and discuss with you what I need to do to create the book that you want. This usually involves interviewing you and others, researching topics, writing, and revising. You, of course, are intimately involved all the way through.
